Before Your Appointment
To ensure the best possible experience and results, here's how to prepare for your waxing or sugaring session

Prep Your Skin
Gently exfoliate the areas you plan to have waxed or sugared about 24 hours before your appointment. This helps prevent ingrown hairs and allows for a smoother service.

Avoid Tanning & Sun Exposure
We cannot wax or sugar sunburnt skin. Please avoid significant sun exposure or tanning for at least 48 hours before your appointment to prevent irritation and ensure your skin is healthy.

Hair Length
For sugaring, your hair should be at least 1/16 inch long. For waxing, it needs to be at least 1/4 inch (about the size of a grain of rice). If it's longer, don't worry, we can trim it for you!

Keep Your Skin Natural
Arrive with clean, dry skin. Please avoid using any powders, sprays, creams, or lotions on the areas being treated before your appointment. Also, make sure there are no cuts or bruises on your body.

Choose Loose Clothing
After your service, your skin will be extra sensitive. We recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing to your appointment to avoid irritation in the waxed or sugared areas.

Menstruation
You absolutely can get waxed or sugared while menstruating! Just be aware that you might experience a bit more sensitivity during this time. We kindly ask you to wear a tampon during your session.
After Your Appointment
You've done it! Now, to keep your skin smooth and happy, here's what to do after your waxing or sugaring session:

Keep Hydrated
Keep your skin well-hydrated. Regularly apply a moisturizing lotion to the areas that were sugared or waxed to soothe and nourish your skin.

Avoid Heat for 24 Hours
For at least 24 hours after your appointment, skip hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms. Your skin will be sensitive, and excessive heat can cause irritation.

Soothe Your Skin
Apply a soothing organic masque or gel, like pure aloe vera, to the treated areas. This can help calm any redness and reduce sensitivity.
Icon of Check mark on circle
No Exfoliation for 48 Hours
Give your skin a break. Avoid exfoliating the sugared or waxed areas for at least 48 hours to allow your skin to recover without irritation.

Skip Swimming & Workouts for 24 Hours
Your skin is delicate after hair removal. Refrain from swimming or strenuous workouts for 24 hours to prevent irritation and potential breakouts.

Preventing Ingrown Hairs
To keep those pesky ingrown hairs at bay, gently exfoliate the treated areas 2-3 times a week using a good quality scrub. You can also apply tea tree oil to sensitive hair roots to help prevent them.

Preparing For Your Laser Hair Removal Appointment

Getting the most from your service means knowing exactly what to do before you arrive and how to care for your skin after. Below, you'll find three dedicated sections covering essential pre-treatment and post-treatment steps for waxing, sugaring, and laser hair removal. Follow these expert tips from WaxKitty™ for a more comfortable experience and beautiful, lasting results.

Before Your Laser Hair Removal Service
To ensure a safe and effective laser hair removal experience, please follow these important guidelines before your appointment:

Avoid Sun Exposure
Stay out of the sun for at least four weeks prior to your treatment. Sun exposure can increase the risk of complications and reduce the effectiveness of the laser.

Avoid Tanning & Sun Exposure
If you are on Accutane, you must complete your course at least four to six months before your first session. Also, avoid aspirin for 7 days before your appointment, as it's a blood thinner and can lead to bruising. Discuss any other photosensitive medications, like certain antibiotics, with us.

No Hair Removal Other Than Shaving
For two weeks prior to your session (and in between treatments), do NOT tweeze, wax, or epilate. The laser targets the hair follicle, which is removed by these methods. Please shave the treatment area the day before your appointment.

Skip Tanning Products & Skin Lighteners
To prevent potential skin injury, do not use self-tanners or spray tans for at least two weeks before your treatment. Also, avoid skin lightening products for 3-4 weeks prior to your appointment.

Cease Retinol & Vitamin A Products
Discontinue all Vitamin A or retinol products in the treatment area for a minimum of 3-5 days before your hair removal session. These products can increase skin sensitivity.

Limit Alcohol Intake
Avoid consuming more than two alcoholic beverages within 24 hours of your treatment. Alcohol can dehydrate your skin and increase sensitivity.

If desired, you may apply a numbing cream to the treatment area. For best results, apply the numbing cream 45 minutes before your appointment, after cleaning the area with an alcohol swab. Numbing cream is available for purchase at local stores
